Kick-off PIFF 2025 with our Opening Ceremony, highlighting the immense work that the Pacific Islands have done in ocean preservation. Presented by the Permanent Mission of Australia to the United Nations, and featuring National Geographic: Pristine Seas join us for an evening of film, talks and performances.

Where: Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian


Returning to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian they are happy to include a one-two punch starting with a NYC Community Screening Premiere of The Mountain.  Followed by an intriguing conversation about Indigenous Film Futures with Sundance’s Director of Indigenous Programming, the Native Cinema Showcase Executive Director. 


And join us for over 20 films from the Pacific Islands at the Village East by Angelika.

Sunday, 9/21 — Closing Gala & Concert

Where: Ascent Lounge


PIFF 2025’s festivities conclude with our Closing Gala. Celebrate our season with a rare New York talk with the cast and creator of Hawaiʻi’s newest hit Chief of War. That will lead us into the celebration of the top films of the festival with the 2025 PIFF Awards and the evening will be cappstoned with the soulful performance by Keilana.
